The Vicious Art: Havoc

Today on The Vicious Art we showcase another character of The Vicious Planet.
This time we have Lieutenant Helen Havoc.

Havoc is an imperial military officer and the empire is fond of the color blue.  The idea behind her outfit is that she wears imperial military fitness clothes instead of her regular uniform most of the time.

And finally we have Chibi Havoc.

The Vicious Art: Sidewinder

It is time for The Vicious Art again and this time I will be bringing you some pieces of Sidewinder.

I have a lot of pieces of Sidewinder.

There is an important detail about Sidewinder that I either keep forgetting to tell the artists or they ignore it when I do tell them.  Sidewinder was originally supposed to be wearing thin circle frame glasses, like Harry Potter glasses.

So far only one artists had included the glasses.  Hopefully future artists will get that detail right.

The Vicious Art: Stereo

Welcome back to another installment of The Vicious Art where I showcase some of the character art for The Vicious Planet.  Today we will be looking at Victoria Belfast AKA Stereo.

Stereo is the resident tech-head engineer.  She is a master of electronic devices and cybernetic implants.  Stereo went deaf due to an accident when she was a child.  She was given cybernetic hearing implants shortly after.

Stereo always has various electronic devices and spare parts with her.

While I had Stereo's basic look early on I am still working on some of the details of her personality and background.

The Vicious Casting: Zoe AKA Sugarsnap

Welcome to my first casting feature.  It is here that I will show off my cast picks for my characters in the event that The Vicious Planet were ever actually turned into a live action production.

We will begin with Zoe Floridian AKA Sugarsnap.

First a little background on Zoe.  Her mother died when she was very young so she never really knew her.  Her father was an imperial military officer who lost the use of his legs in battle.

Zoe is a computer programming genius.  She also tends to be kind of impulsive and hyper, possibly even to the point of having some sort of hyperactive disorder, or maybe its just all the sugar she eats.  She was never properly diagnosed with anything because her father was very distrustful of imperial healthcare after he became disabled.  Zoe inherited that distrust and spent much of her teenage years getting in trouble with imperial authorities for illegal computer hacking.

Okay anyway onto the casting.  As far as my casting choices go I selected them based two things.  First physical appearance, do they look like how I imagine the characters would in real life.  The second factor is age, I prefer that the actors at least be close to the age of the characters they are playing.

So lets take a look at Zoe Floridian again.

She is in her late teens or early twenties. She has dark hair and probably average Caucasian skin tone.

So based on this I selected some potential actresses who I think could play her if The Vicious Planet were ever turned into an actual show.

First up is Alessandra Torressani

She was on the critically acclaimed Caprica and she fits the look of the character.  Although apparently she went blonde recently but she could easily go back to her darker hair color for the role.

Speaking of hair color my next pick is Jennifer Lawrence

Most recently playing Mystique in X-Men First Class I would not have considered her because she was blonde but then I saw this picture of her her with darker hair for The Hunger Games and now I think she could totally play Sugarsnap.

Hey I never claimed my casting criteria was anything deep.

My next potential casting pick for Sugarsnap is Miranda Cosgrove

Yes, the iCarly girl, now shut up.  What can I say, she is eighteen and she meets the physical description.  Lets move on shall we.

My last casting pick is Elyse Levesque

Formerly of Stargate Universe she has the right look for the character.

So I guess we are done with this portion of the meeting.  Wow I thought I would have more to say.  Well while we are at it we may as well cast Zoe's boybriend, Brian Chesterton AKA Handyman

 

Zoe and Brian met while hacking the same imperial digital network.  Brian is also a computer programming genius with knack for getting into trouble with imperial authority.  To most people Brian seems a bit anti-social but it would be more accurate to say that he does not understand people.  He understand computers and code but people he is not always sure how to deal with.

So the point of bringing up Brian is to say that I don't really have any casting picks for him.  He is a character I am still developing.  For a while the only thing I was sure about was that he was not white, that is to say he is not of Caucasian European ethnic descent.  But then I wasn't sure what he was besides "not white".  Just recently I finally decided that he is Native Hawaiian.  I would prefer that he be played by an actor who is Native Hawaiian.  However I am not aware of any Native Hawaiian actors.  So if anyone has any ideas let me know.

The Vicious Art: Zoe and Brian

It is long past time I began showcasing some of the art I have had done for The Vicious Planet.  These were all lineart pieces various artists did for me that I colored.

We will start with the main character couple of Zoe and Brian AKA Sugarsnap and Handyman.

So far this image is the best interpretation of what I originally imagined Zoe and Brian to look like.
Zoe is called Sugarsnap because she is a very sweet girl and also because she really likes sugar and tends to snap at people a little when she in on a sugar rush.
Brian is called Handyman because that was the first thing that popped into The Minister's head when she was handing out the nicknames.  I recently decided that Brian is Native Hawaiian.

The Governor

Today we have Governor Jasper Terrian.



Jasper Terrian is the imperial appointed governor of the new planet.  He is also an old friend of The Professor.

Guardian of the Gray

Today we have Bisherman, Guardian of the Gray Lands.

Bisherman originally comes from The Amber Planet.  He is one of the Harkanoa, a clan of masked warriors.
Many years ago Bisherman made some bad choices and it resulted in the deaths of his brothers in arms.  He went into exile and traveled alone.  His journey took him to The Vicious Planet.  He accepted the role of Gaurdian of the Gray Lands hoping it would help him regain his honor.
The Gray Lands are a desolate rocky fog covered wasteland.  It was once a sacred place for burying the dead.  Now the great crypts and ancient graveyards are crumbling from centuries of neglect.  The only life are the scavengers who feed on the carrion that litters the landscape.

Planetary Geography

I need to rethink the geography of The Vicious Planet.
